Mats Wilander<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
$\"mats-wilander-220x220\"$ Mats burst onto the world tennis scene at the 1982 French Open, just a year after turning professional. As an unseeded player, he upset second, fifth and fourth seeds en route to a final with third-seeded Guillermo Vilas. Winning that match, he became the youngest-ever male Grand Slam singles champion at 17 years old.
\nWilander won his second and third Grand Slam titles at the 1983 and 1984 Australian Opens and Major no. 4 came at Roland Garros in 1985. Mats rose to the World No.1 ranking in 1988, a year in which he won three of the four Grand Slam titles \u2013 the Australian, French and US Opens. He reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.
\nMats was a member of three Swedish Davis Cup winning teams. In the 1984 final, he won a critical singles rubber against Jimmy Connors to help Sweden to victory over the USA. Then, in 1985 Mats again played a crucial role in helping Sweden to defend their crown, winning both a singles and doubles rubber in the final against West Germany. In 1987, Mats lifted the Davis Cup with Sweden for the final time, this time winning a clean sweep of two singles and one doubles rubber to wipe out India in the final.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n

Ann has been honoured with many awards including the National Strength and Conditioning Association Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year, Australian Sports Medal; Professional Tennis Registry Plagenhoef Sport Science Award, and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Award for services to the game in coaching. She has also been extensively featured in television, radio, newspapers and magazines around the world.
\nAnn has a Ph.D. in Psyc<divhology (University of Melbourne), M.Sc. in Exercise Science (University of Illinois), B.App.Sc. in Human Movement (RMIT), Dip.Ed. (Melbourne) and Dip. Nutrition (London).\u00a0 She is also a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Time Line Therapy\u00ae. She was formerly a member of the ITF Coaches Commission for 8 years and is now a member of their Sports Medicine and Sports Science Commission. She sits on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Professional Development Panel and has also written, co-authored and edited several coaching publications.

Hermann Maier<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
$\"hermann-maier-220px\"$ <\/a>Hermann Maier made his World Cup debut at age 23 on 10 February 1996, and finished 26th in the giant slalom at Hinterstoder, Austria. A year later in February 1997, he won his first World Cup event – a Super-G race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. He quickly established himself as an explosive and dynamic racer, well known for his strength, willingness to take risks, and strong work ethic.
\nMaier soon dominated alpine ski racing, winning the gold medal in the giant slalom and Super-G at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, only a few days after a dramatic crash in the downhill race where he flew spectacularly off the sunlit course, landed partially on his head, tumbled head over heels several times, and crashed through two layers of B-netting. Despite the horrible look of the crash, Maier was able to walk out under his own power. That put him on the cover of Sports Illustrated and made him a well known sportsman around the globe. Maier won the overall World Cup title in 1998, as well as the Super-G and giant slalom season titles, and placed second in the downhill standings.<\/p>\n
In 2000 he won the overall World Cup title, as well as the season titles in downhill, Super G, and giant slalom. He had a dominating performance, setting the then most point garnered by an alpine skier, of 2000 points. This record was not surpassed until female skier Tina Maze beat it in 2013, with 2,314 points.[1]

He won 13 World Cup races, but settled for two medals (silver and bronze) in the speed events at the 2001 World Championships in St. Anton. He was the reigning world champion in both events, won in 1999 at Beaver Creek, Colorado.
